Switching stations are important nodes within a distribution network and make it possible to switch, split, or disconnect individual parts of the network. They significantly improve power supply management, providing the system with flexibility, reliability, and ability to detect the location of malfunctions.
Most switching stations are equipped with automated medium-voltage switchgears that can be controlled remotely, for both routine operation and emergencies. It is also possible to integrate a medium-voltage metering, enabling accurate metering of electricity, both generated and consumed.
The switching station complies with EN 62271-202. Its enclosure is made of fire-resistant (REI 60) reinforced concrete. The underground part of the enclosure has hermetically sealed cable inlets. The door is made of galvanised steel and has a polymer powder coating. The coating complies with environmental category C4 according to EN 12944-2:2012, ensuring a minimum service life of 40 years in the specified conditions. The door complies with RC2 break-in resistance class as defined in EN 1627:2021. The switching station is custom-built to the customer’s specifications, in accordance with the intended function and system configuration.
